Top Hatting
Top hatting is one of the cheating methods, mostly applied by roulette cheaters correspondingly at roulette. To make everything clear, the principles of Top Hatting is almost the same as those of Past Posting with one difference - the dealer is also involved into the scam.
Dangerous partnership
Actually this point makes the whole technique much more dangerous first of all because of the partnership and secondary, because the partner is a casino dealer. It is obviously harder to 'work' with somebody, no matter if he is a best friend or friend for one scam night. Moreover, when the cheater collaborates with a dealer there is probably always a kind of apprehension from his side considering the fact that the partner works at casino and may give away a cheater.
The plan
However, in case both of scam participants recognize their common aim and want to achieve it they play the game gradually. The main thing is to make a good plan of actions and to work every movement through. The dealer perform top hatting himself slipping the chip and putting it on winning number when the roulette ball comes to stop on certain point on the wheel. Sometimes it can be really profitable and the removing of one cheap may turn into great winning.
Detection
This technique has one huge downside - it's really easy to detect. One suspicion for the pit boss or casino manager is enough for looking through CCTV cameras' tape where all movements of cheaters and their cheating at casino can be clearly seen.
Some years ago the cases of Top hatting were registered in a few Britain casinos that were losing several thousand per week during the whole year! As it turned out later two smart alecks invented their own scheme and used their incredible talent and sleight of hands all that time being unnoticed by other players and casino employees.
